“Exact matches only” hides equivalent observations, not products. Price per 100g uses each observation’s actual weight; it does not make different variants identical.

02 / Suggested shelf prices

A practical starting point for ABC.

Recommendations from the report for an HDB-town neighbourhood minimart. Check supplier costs and margins before implementation.

01

Separate one-pack value
from multi-buy savings.

At $2.59, ABC’s suggested Maggi prices beat FairPrice’s $2.67 displayed single-pack price, but remain $0.34 above its $2.25 two-pack effective price.

02

Check the pack
before the price.

Giant’s $3.95 Indomie is Special, 10 × 85g. The target is Original, 5 × 80g. The $0.46 per 100g figure is useful context, not an exact-product benchmark.

03

Keep Samyang’s
qualification visible.

Cold Storage’s $7.30 listing has the same 5 × 140g size, but its title says “Hot Chicken,” not “Buldak.” ABC’s $7.99 suggestion sits between that qualified offer and Giant’s $8.20.

03 / Evidence & methodology

Know what sits behind the numbers.

How prices and recommendations are calculated

Multi-buy view uses $4.50 ÷ 2 = $2.25 for each Maggi five-pack and $2.98 ÷ 2 = $1.49 for each Nissin cup. Buy-one view uses their displayed single-unit prices of $2.67 and $1.66. Other one-pack promotions remain active in both views. Prices per 100g equal displayed effective price ÷ actual pack weight × 100, rounded to two decimals. Minimum highlighting considers exact matches only and includes ties; equivalent observations are never silently ranked as exact matches.

The report’s typical prices are $2.70 medians for each Maggi product and $1.65 median for Nissin, using documented effective prices. Indomie has only one exact observation, so no typical price is calculated. Samyang’s $7.75 midpoint uses $7.30 and $8.20 with the Cold Storage naming qualification. These benchmarks stay fixed when the display toggle changes.

ABC’s prices are suggestions, not observed shelf prices or evidence of cost, margin, profit, stock or guaranteed competitiveness. No basket total is shown because pack sizes, variants and price coverage differ.

Why these three supermarkets?
RetailerEvidence in the supplied reportUse in this comparison
FairPrice (NTUC FairPrice Singapore)Twelve individually inspected official product pages showed current prices, explicit pack data and cart availability; the official instant-noodles category showed 302 products. Price and promotion availability can still vary by location or time.1 2High for core matching
Sheng SiongThe official storefront was inaccessible to the supplied inspection. Twenty-three current prices were instead documented on Sheng Siong-branded Foodpanda pages, which are store-specific marketplace evidence rather than official-domain product pages; several requested items were not publicly priced.3 4Moderate; incomplete for the selected basket
Giant SingaporeThe supplied evidence records a conservative 40 live Giant IMM instant-noodle listings and a dated Giant flyer, but the live product-level evidence is Foodpanda marketplace/store-channel pricing; exact Indomie Original 5 x 80g was not verified.5 6 7High for four of the five selected products; partial for Indomie
Cold Storage SingaporeTwelve direct official product pages expose price, pack data and order/stock-state signals. Maggi Curry, Maggi Asam Laksa and Nissin Seafood are exact matches; Indomie and Samyang naming requires the stated equivalent labels.8 9High for three exact matches; qualified for Indomie and Samyang
Prime SupermarketOfficial pages identify relevant packs but state “Login to view prices”; the supplied evidence verified zero publicly visible relevant prices. Physical-store prices were not inferred.10 11No — catalogue/SKU identification only

The three selected retailers provide the most complete set in the supplied evidence. Products were selected for coverage, not verified bestseller status. Sheng Siong’s official storefront was inaccessible to the supplied inspection and its marketplace basket was incomplete. Prime’s relevant public catalogue required login to see prices.

Source document and verification limits

Adapted from “Singapore Supermarket Instant Noodle Competitor Price Analysis — ABC Supermarket (HDB-town neighbourhood minimart), 24 October 2026.” Product source links are preserved from the document. They have not been rechecked for this webpage. FairPrice and Cold Storage observations are attributed to official product pages; Giant observations are attributed to the Giant IMM store listing on Foodpanda. Delivery-platform prices may differ from shelf or checkout prices. No item-level Giant stock status was stated.

The FairPrice Samyang 5 × 140g price is not publicly stated in the report; a verified 70g cup is not substituted. A missing price does not mean unavailable. If only official retailer-owned item pages are accepted, exclude Giant’s marketplace prices from the comparison.
